Weekly Wednesday Educational Tip

Struggling students don’t always need MORE work sometimes they need learning presented in a DIFFERENT way.

Try turning everyday moments into learning opportunities:
🛒 Grocery store = math practice
🍳 Cooking = measurement skills
🚗 Car rides = spelling games
📖 Story time = comprehension practice

Learning doesn’t only happen in a classroom. The little moments count too.

A lot of people don’t know this…

Before P.A.C.E., there was Goldsboro Summer Games. 💙

Back in 2014, I mailed letters to churches all across Goldsboro with one simple request:

“Let me bring the children to you.”

I wasn’t asking for money.
I wasn’t asking for recognition.
I was offering to provide a free summer program for children in the communities surrounding the churches. I already had partnerships lined up for meals, activities, and programming.

All I needed was space.
Many churches never responded.
But one did...Faith Place Center of Worship Apostle Douglas & Cynthia Kornegay.

Because they opened their doors, children from all over Goldsboro came together for 2 Summers Straight!

And the truth is…it was never about growing a membership roster.

It was about making sure the community knew:
The church is still here!
The church still sees you!
The church still cares!

Looking back now, I realize Goldsboro Summer Games was planting seeds for what would later become P.A.C.E. Leadership & Learning Center.

The mission has always been the same:
Serve the community. Love the children. Create safe spaces. Lead with purpose.

Couldn't find the exact logo but I tried to recreate it!

🎓 INVESTING IN FUTURE LEADERS 🎓

One of the most meaningful parts of our vision for PACE Leadership & Learning Center is creating scholarship opportunities for the high school Juniors and Seniors who choose to serve as volunteer tutors and mentors within our program. 💛

As we continue our Founding Partners Campaign, a large portion of campaign funds will go toward supporting scholarship incentives for student volunteers who dedicate their time to helping younger students succeed academically and personally.

These students are not only volunteering they are becoming role models, encouragers, and future leaders within our community.

The Vision Behind PACE

PACE Leadership & Learning Center is more than tutoring.

It’s a place where students will be:
- encouraged
- supported

- mentored
- reminded that they are capable of success

We want students to walk into a space where they feel seen, valued, and believed in.

Our goal isn't just to improve grades but it’s to help build confidence, leadership, and hope for the future.

Every child deserves someone willing to invest in them.

📍PACE Leadership & Learning Center is currently searching for a space to call home!

We are looking for a location within close proximity to local schools to support the launch of our afterschool tutoring and mentorship program for students in our community.

Potential spaces may include:
🏫 Youth centers
⛪ Church fellowship halls
🏢 Community buildings
📚 Educational spaces
🏠 Unused or underutilized facilities

Our goal is to create a safe, structured, and encouraging environment where students can receive academic support, mentorship, and enrichment opportunities after school.
