Gratitude and What it Does 👇:
Day 1: God, I am grateful to YOU that I can do my laundry in my house and prep my food for the day because I have a home, I have working utilities, I have healthy food I can afford in my budget, and extra time this morning to prep my meals and do these chores. 🧡
If I were NOT in a grateful mindset...
"Well, I guess there's not enough at work to keep me busy this morning and how is that going to affect my bottom line!? Why can't my husband do his own laundry so it doesn't add to my list of chores *he does do this often BTW* OH, and I am SO sick of 'having' to avoid processed foods because I 'have to' abstain for my recovery and sobriety. WHY OH WHY can't I eat what everyone else does." 😒
What Gratitude Does:
I found myself not only grateful for the extra time this morning to practice good self-care and stewardship of my home, but I also made time to watch a great testimony of someone who had a radical life change through Jesus (my fav thing to do). I also was struck with the recognition that there are many people who don't even have running water, let alone a washer/dryer in their home. I thanked God for my comforts...I asked Him to use my comfort to pray for others and to show me how I could help someone else in His will. I thanked God for my husband and his job, and I found myself in a moment of deep connection with the LORD. Mind = renewed 🙏
That's GRATITUDE. A great ATTITUDE to practice one day at a time!
