We are so happy to share that Mollie Forrester and Kristian Cox, Health and PE teachers from Fremont Elementary, recently presented at the NC School Health and Physical Education Conference in Winston-Salem.
Their session, titled "Count, Measure, Move: Physical Education Meets Mathematics," provided educators with innovative strategies to blend physical activity with mathematical thinking. By creating an engaging, cross-curricular approach to student learning, these teachers are showing the entire state how movement can reinforce academic concepts.
Congratulations to Ms. Forrester and Mr. Cox for representing Wayne County Public Schools and sharing your expertise with colleagues across North Carolina.

3rd Graders Dive into STEM at UMO!
Students from Brogden Primary, Carver Heights Elementary, Fremont Elementary, Grantham Elementary, and Meadow Lane Elementary spent the day at the University of Mount Olive for the STEM on the Green event. They rotated through hands-on stations and explored everything from oobleck to catapults to genetics.
Thank you to our partners at UMO for making this such a fun and educational day for our students and for providing a great lunch, too!
