Thank You to some of the guys from City of Goldsboro Fire Department for visiting NIA today! A lot of times our kids miss out on things due to sensory issues etc but these guys did awesome with them ❤️🚒

SOOOO...I got a "grant" to get a class pet. Turned out to be a coupon for the habitat and half off the Guinea Pig (which I will personally pay the rest). I told the kids we were getting one about a month ago, but for some reason PetSmart hasn't had them in. Anyway I went yesterday and they have started getting them again...therefore we are getting a new classmate soon. I added some things we need for our little buddy to our classroom Amazon wish list - stay tuned for pictures of our new addition

I have decided to share my "Adventures" in Teaching - I will share things that I never thought I would say or hear until I became a teacher 😜😲 Like the page to get a laugh every now and then

ALL of my friends that have small businesses or work somewhere that may be interested in helping me, I am working on several Projects at the moment and need some donations 😉
1.) I teach at New Independence Academy (we serve Children with Autism) and we are having a fundraiser soon. We need donations of things that can be given as prizes 🥰
2.) I like to make "Goodie bags" for my students for Christmas and at the end of the school year - I'm looking for things to put inside those. I currently have around 16 students - If you want to help let me know. I also will add some things that would work for this to my amazon list if you want to participate that way let me know! 🤩
3.) I am also the director of the Miss Seymour Johnson Pageant that will be held in October and am in need of donations for prizes. This is my passion because I love to help little girls be self confident and love themselves. I also strive to be a good role model for them in my life. This is actually open to all ages so there are kids and adults.

This week was a great week at work! It was teacher appreciation week. I will be honest, I quit teaching a few years ago because I was miserable at the school I was working at, I was very discouraged. That is how I landed at Deacon Jones for three years. I became close with my work family and was sad when I decided to leave to go back to teaching, but I am thankful I took the leap! I LOVE my job and my students even on the hard days ❤️ Thank you to everyone that made this week special.
