Mr. Barnes brings a wealth of knowledge, leadership, and educational experience to Wayne Middle High Academy. His career includes:

🎓 Education
• 1992 Graduate of Goldsboro High School
• B.A. in History with a minor in Geography, East Carolina University (1996)
• Executive Leadership in Administration (K–12), Gardner-Webb University (2013)

📚 Professional Experience
• Social Studies Teacher at Goldsboro High School – 15+ years
• Instructional Coach (English & Social Studies) – 3 years
• Teacher at Charles B. Aycock High School – 1½ years
• Assistant Principal at Charles B. Aycock High School – 2 years
• Assistant Principal at Eastern Wayne High School – 7½ years
• Assistant Principal at Southern Wayne High School – 1 year
• Assistant Principal at Wayne School of Engineering – 1 year
• Interim Assistant Principal at Wayne Middle High Academy – 8+ months

In July 2026, Mr. Barnes was officially named Principal of Wayne Middle High Academy.
