🚫 TOP MISTAKES STUDENTS MAKE ON TESTS

Let’s be real —
Most mistakes on a test aren’t about not knowing the content.

They’re about how you think under pressure.

That’s exactly what we’ve been working on in our
🎥 “Test Smarter, Not Harder” series: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLnfY3H3vUeXAH8Yhyuj6T9ZBpZNOBPlS7&si=j1oLekh831rfJlsh

Here are the biggest ones we see:

❌ 1. Rushing
Your brain says, “Just pick something.”
Strong test takers slow down and read it right the first time.

❌ 2. Not reading carefully
The answer is usually there…
but only if you actually look for it.

❌ 3. Getting stuck too long
One question shouldn’t take you out of the whole test.
Move on. Come back. Stay in control.

❌ 4. Overthinking good answers
First instinct is often right.
Changing answers without a reason usually hurts you.

❌ 5. Poor time management
You don’t need to rush — you need to pace.
Stay aware. Stay steady.

This isn’t about being perfect.
It’s about avoiding mistakes you can control.

Students — you already know more than you think.
Now it’s about how you apply it.

Be prepared.
Stay focused.
Finish strong.

Let’s get after it.

🧠 HOW TO BEAT TEST ANXIETY

Let’s be real —
Most students don’t struggle because they don’t know anything…

They struggle because they panic.

At Liberty, we’re learning how to think under pressure, not just memorize.

🎥 From our “Test Smarter, Not Harder” series:
👉 One of the biggest takeaways:
Your brain wants to rush.
Strong test takers slow it down.

Here’s how:

🧠 1. Control the moment
When a question feels hard, don’t spiral.
Pause. Reset. Find your next step.

🎯 2. Don’t fall for the first answer
Your brain will try to grab the quickest option.
Take a second — make sure it actually answers the question.

🔁 3. Keep moving
Getting stuck builds anxiety.
Skip it. Come back. Stay in control.

This isn’t about being perfect.
It’s about staying steady.

Students — you don’t need to know everything.
You just need to stay focused and think clearly.

We’ve been working on this.
Now it’s time to apply it.

Let’s get after it.

🎯 WHAT TO EXPECT ON TEST DAY

At Liberty, we don’t walk in guessing.
We walk in knowing.

Here’s exactly what test day looks like:

⏰ Before the Test
• Students will be called around 9:20 AM
• Testing starts at 9:30 AM
• Take a breath, get focused, be ready

🧠 During the Test
• Most tests run about 2–4 hours
• Stay locked in, take your time
• If you don’t know it right away, keep moving

🔁 After the Test
• Students return between 12:00–1:30
• No stress about missed work — we’ve got you
• Reset and finish the day strong

💡 What Matters Most
• Get sleep
• Eat something
• Show up

That’s it.

No extra pressure.
No overthinking.

Just be ready and do your best.

We’ll handle the rest.

This is not about being perfect.
It’s about being prepared.

Students — take 10–15 minutes and watch one video.
Apply one thing. That’s it.

Families — this is a simple way to support your student without adding stress.

We’re building confidence.
We’re building habits.
We’re building momentum.

Let’s get after it.
