I have not posted in a long time but figured it might be time for an update on the status of Music Reeder. I am putting all private lesson instruction on hold, most likely until my kids have finished school. With their activities and my own work schedule, finding an additional 10-12 hours a week to maintain the studio is not a realistic option going forward. I am so grateful for the opportunity to work with some amazing students and families and sincerely look forward to returning to studio teaching again in the future. Thank you for trusting me in your children’s musical growth. We truly had a wonderful experience together, and I will enjoy watching these kids as they blossom into young adults! Blessings!!! 🎶 🎼 ❤️

Mini-lesson #4: Percussion! I recycled some of my instrument introduction video about percussion AND recorded new content on the band instruments from school! Percussion is waaaaay more than drums!

(And although having piano is encouraged, it is not required to play percussion at BPES in 5th grade.)

Learn about the percussion/drum family with Mrs. Reeder.

The 3rd video in the mini-lesson series is the saxophone!! Mrs. Reeder's special guests include a band director friend, Nathan Sletten, a 6th grader and BPES student, Madelyn H.! Join us in exploring the sounds of the sax!

Mr. Sletten and Mrs. Reeder grew up together and both got their musical start in Lake Mills with the same teachers. Mr. Sletten now has the honor and privilege of carrying on the torch and is a fabulous music educator! Madelyn H. started piano and saxophone lessons with Mrs. Reeder at BPES and is a great advocate for trying new things and working hard towards personal growth!
