📱 Gilmer County Schools Families — CONNECT is here!

We’re excited to begin using CONNECT, our new secure two-way communication tool built right into the Gilmer County Schools app! CONNECT will become our primary way for families to communicate with teachers, staff, and coaches — all in one place.

✅ What families need to know:

📲 Download or update the Gilmer County Schools app.
If you already have the app but are having trouble logging in or accessing CONNECT, please check for an app update first.

📩 Watch for a text from 27806 between Aug. 17–21.
When a staff member sends you a message through CONNECT, you may receive a text notification from 27806. Follow the link and verification steps to access your message.

🔐 Logging in is easy!
Use your personal email address or cell phone number and enter the verification code sent to you.

🔔 Allow push notifications when prompted so you don’t miss important messages from your child’s school or teachers.

💬 Once inside the app, select Rooms & Messages at the bottom:

Messages → Communicate directly with teachers and staff.
Rooms → Access your child’s classroom information.

📄 A detailed letter with complete instructions will be coming home with students.

We encourage all families to get logged in and become familiar with CONNECT so we’re ready to go!

Mountaineer Food Bank in partnership with Gilmer County Schools will distribute food to Gilmer County families with children ages 18 and younger on August 5th. The distribution will take place at GCES via the Parent Loop, 10:30am-12:30pm. Please see the attached flyer. This will be the last food distribution for Summer 2026. Thank you Mountaineer Food Bank for your help and support.

REMINDER: Weekend food for kiddos in Gilmer is today at GCES...11:30am-12:30pm. This is in partnership with Mountaineer Food Bank. You are welcome to drive through to pick up meals for the weekend. If you have not registered, you will be asked to register. If your child is attending summer school programs, they will bring food home on the school bus or when you pick them up. Thank you.

Buses will pick up children one hour later Friday morning and deliver them home one hour later Friday afternoon. Questions: Please call 304.462.7338. Thank you.

We are excited to announce the transition to a new and improved online Board Policy platform through Neola, providing parents, staff, students, and community members with an easier and more convenient way to access district policies.
The new platform is fully responsive and mobile-friendly, automatically adjusting to computers, tablets, and smartphones for easy reading and navigation wherever you are.

This interactive tool allows users to:

✅ Navigate easily from any device, including mobile phones and tablets
