Get to know Mr. James through six questions about music, teaching, and life outside of lessons!
❓ What’s something students might be surprised to learn about your instrument?
“The cello is the closest instrument to the human voice.”
❓ What inspired you to start playing music?
“All of my siblings started playing an instrument when they were eight years old, so I decided to play the cello and have never looked back!”
❓ What’s a hobby you enjoy outside of music?
“Sports! I grew up playing baseball and played all through high school. My favorite team is the Chicago Cubs.”
❓ What’s your favorite thing about teaching?
“Watching my students get excited about something they’re playing or learning.”
❓ What do you hope students feel when they leave your lessons?
“I hope they feel energized and excited about the progress they’ve made.”
❓ What’s one fun fact your students might not know about you?
“I have an electric cello that I like to play covers of pop and rock songs on!”
