DCC students had the opportunity to join Fort Keogh Research Lab in Miles City, MT celebrate 101 years! 🎉

Students participated in a pasture tour and experienced the growth of technology in range management. The different breeding projects were also on display including the famous Line 1 Herefords. We ended the day with touring test plots where prescribed burning is being researched for forage production.

The Feeding & Nutrition class had the opportunity to visit Stortz Ranch to learn more about their nutrition program. Tate and Otto reviewed the different rations they feed and how to manage home-grown feedstuffs. We also looked at equipment, feed bunks and a silage pile!

The Feeding and Nutrition class had a great field trip to the CHS feed mill in Circle, MT. They even let us in the basement of the elevator to see how it works! Thank you Sarah Thorson and her crew for the excellent tour.
