Join us for the first event of the 2026 FMP Film Focus Series on Wed., Feb. 18 at 6:00pm in the GCC Performing Arts Center. Watch and discuss Ryan Coogler’s first short film, Locks and Director Niki Caro’s feature film, Whale Rider.

Sponsored by the Film and Media Production Program, the screening spotlights the creativity and innovation of two award-winning directors. Writer/Director Ryan Coogler’s films include Black Panther and Creed. His latest film, Sinners, is up for a record 16 Oscar nominations, including Best Picture and Best Director. Writer/Director Niki Caro has earned multiple nominations and awards for her films, including Mulan, The Zookeeper’s Wife, and North Country,. Her 2003 film, Whale Rider, was awarded Best Feature Film by the British Academy of Arts and Sciences.
