There are moments in life that remind you you’re exactly where you’re meant to be.
Today was one of those moments.
As I looked around the room at our Child Nutrition team during our kickoff, I couldn’t help but feel overwhelmed with gratitude.
Gratitude for the incredible people I have the privilege of serving alongside.
Gratitude for the hearts that make up this department.
Gratitude for the opportunity we’ve been given to make a difference in the lives of children every single day.
People often see school nutrition as simply preparing and serving meals. We see something so much bigger…
We see the kindergartner who smiles ear to ear because someone remembered their name. We see the student who quietly needs a little extra kindness. We see the athlete fueling up before a big game, the teacher grabbing breakfast before a busy day, and the child whose best meal of the day may come from one of our cafeterias.
That is why we do what we do.
This department is unlike any other because of the people in it. Every member of our team brings something special—compassion, dedication, laughter, resilience, servant hearts, and an unwavering commitment to caring for others. Together, those gifts create something extraordinary.
I often say that we don’t just feed students—we nourish hearts, build relationships, and create moments that children will remember long after they’ve left our cafeterias.
To my Child Nutrition family…thank you.
Thank you for choosing to serve.
Thank you for showing up with kindness, grace, and purpose.
Thank you for believing that what you do matters, because it truly does.
I am incredibly blessed to lead this team, but even more blessed to learn from each of you every day.
