The most special Kindergarten celebration happens right here at Gladwyne Montessori!

One of the highlights of this beloved tradition is the "I Am" Poem. Each student is thoughtfully interviewed by their teachers, who help transform their words, dreams, interests, and personalities into a beautiful poem that is read aloud during the ceremony. The pride on the children's faces and the joy felt by parents and teachers alike, often brings a few tears to the room.

And then comes the Crossing Over Ceremony. As our Kindergarteners prepare to become first graders in our Lower Elementary communitiy, they are welcomed into the Savett Building in the most meaningful way. Escorted across the bridge by their future Upper Elementary peers and cheered through the building by the entire Elementary community, these newest first graders are met with smiles, applause, and excitement for the journey ahead.

It's a celebration of growth, independence, community, and all that is possible when children are given the opportunity to flourish.

Congratulations to all of our Kindergarteners...we can't wait to see all you accomplish in Elementary!

That's (almost) a wrap on another incredible school year!

To our students: We are so proud of all you have accomplished this year. From your first lessons to your biggest breakthroughs, you've amazed us with your curiosity, perseverance, kindness, and growth.

To our teachers: Thank you for the care, dedication, patience, and passion you bring to the classroom each day. The impact you have on our students' lives is immeasurable, and we are so grateful for all you have done this year.

To our families: Thank you for your partnership and support throughout the year. It has been a joy to share in your children's learning journey.

While our Elementary students and Kindergarteners still have one more special day ahead with Thursday's Kindergarten Celebration and Elementary closing activities, we're already feeling so grateful for the memories made this year.

We wish everyone a wonderful summer filled with adventure, rest, and time together. Whether you're heading off for summer fun or joining us at Summer Camp, we can't wait to see what comes next!

There’s something special about the last week of school.

The classrooms are still busy with meaningful work, but there’s also a different kind of energy in the air...students revisiting favorite lessons, sharing memories with friends, and soaking up every last moment together.

As we walk through the halls, we’re reminded just how much can happen in a single school year. The confidence gained, the challenges overcome, the friendships formed, and the independence built day by day.

These final days are a celebration of the journey itself and what a journey it has been.

Here’s to a few more days of discovery, connection, and making memories together!

From proud Kindergarteners getting ready to move up to Elementary to students reflecting on all they’ve learned and experienced this year, there is so much joy in watching growth unfold.

Thank you to our families, teachers, and students for making this year such a meaningful one. We’re soaking in these last memories together and celebrating all that our students have accomplished!

The breakthroughs are happening everywhere you look lately... one exciting milestone after another!

From our littlest learners mastering gross motor skills, to growing independence in Toddler through works like botany puzzles… from the pride of reading for the very first time in Pre-K, to solving a challenging multiplication problem in Kindergarten… all the way up to Upper Elementary students preparing and packing for their end-of-year overnight trip to NYC!

Every classroom, every hallway, every day is filled with growth, confidence, discovery, and joy. Watching children realize what they are capable of is one of the greatest gifts of a Montessori education.

As we head into the final few days of the school year, we’re soaking in every joyful moment and celebrating just how much our students have grown!

At Gladwyne Montessori, we believe some of the most important lessons happen through compassion, service, and caring for others.

A heartfelt thank you to our incredible families, staff, and students for coming together to support Fostering Hope PA, a nonprofit organization that supports children and youth experiencing foster care by providing essential items, resources, and support to help bring comfort and dignity during times of transition.

Thanks to the generosity of our community, we were able to collect many much-needed items for local children and families. We are so grateful to be part of a school community that continually shows up with kindness, empathy, and a willingness to help others.

What a wonderful Spring Fling we had this past Friday!

From cuddling animals at the petting zoo to laughing along with the juggling act, the afternoon was filled with so much joy, energy, and community spirit. Families enjoyed sweet treats from the bake sale, and the cotton candy, made by one of our Upper Elementary students, was an undeniable hit! 🍭

Events like these are such a special reminder of the warmth and connection that make our school community so unique. Thank you to everyone who helped make the day so memorable!

Lesson Time!

At first glance, this Geometry Cabinet work may look simple: matching shapes to cards and carefully tracing their outlines. But beneath the surface, children are developing an incredible range of skills through purposeful, hands-on exploration.

As children move across the classroom to match, trace, and return each geometric form, they strengthen visual discrimination, concentration, memory, and coordination.

This work also serves as an important indirect preparation for both geometry and writing by helping children develop:

-Visual recognition of shape and form
- A refined three-finger grip
- Control and firmness when using a writing instrument
- The ability to follow contours and patterns carefully
- Focus, movement, and independence

In Montessori education, even the smallest works are thoughtfully designed to support the whole child in building foundational skills through movement, repetition, and discovery!

A moment of appreciation for the butterflies! 🦋

Watching caterpillars transform into butterflies is one of our favorite classroom traditions and a memory so many students carry with them long after they leave our classrooms.

Over the past few weeks, our students carefully observed each stage of the lifecycle, from tiny caterpillars to chrysalides and finally beautiful butterflies ready to take flight. The experience sparked so much curiosity, wonder, and joy.

Teachers thoughtfully extend this learning throughout the classroom with related works and materials, from botany studies and lifecycle activities to puzzles, art, and hands-on exploration inspired by the natural world.

Hands-on moments like these help children connect deeply with the natural world while building patience, observation skills, and respect for living things. Watching the butterflies emerge is always a reminder that some of the most meaningful learning happens slowly, quietly, and with great care.
