By tracking and isolating rams that are resistant to the barber pole worm, the Southwest Virginia Agricultural Research and Extension Center helps the entire sheep industry.

Busy week here @ the SWAREC!
-Ram-test rams were weighed, dosed with worm larvae and put out on test.
-Station lambs were weaned, vaccinated, had f***l & blood samples collected, and sorted into pasture and feedlot groups for a project conducted with NC State’s Dr. Andrew Weaver and Nicole Valliere
