Gavilan College

Shout out to the 1973 Gavilan College Rams who defeated Mira Costa College 16-0 to win the State JC Football Championship on Dec. 1, 1973..........2 weeks later we were named National Champions!
This is probably an unsual post, but I worked at Gavilan for over 22 years, managing the bookstore. Every Thursday the Cafeteria offered Beef Stew, Lena Lico's recipe, it was the best ever. If anyone has that recipe I would love to have it. Thank you!

What is the college doing about faculty member Alan Viarengo?
When is information about what books teachers are going to use this fall, be available to students?
I have asked and not received a response. Why are your meetings, Board, Facilities, Budget, etc. not placed on-line? They are on Zoom and easy enough to upload to CMAP and youtube. You also have media courses with students that can do it. I noticed an issue with inability to follow the Brown Act, picking and choosing who gets to comment on items, seems that's the reason to a lot of us. Who needs transparency, when we can have illusion and deception and ongoing taking of bond monies never repaid to San Benito County.
Hey! I'm woking at California Community Builders this summer, a Berkeley based nonprofit that focuses on closing the racial wealth gap by supporting homeownership. Over the next few weeks, we will be conducting a housing insecurity and homelessness research project for Bay Area college students. If you have faced either of these issues, please fill out our survey! We are trying to gather information to better serve college students. Participants will be entered in a raffle for a $25 gift card! (We will be giving away 3 gift cards). Thank you!

Are we not going to have a fall semester? Whats up with the hold up on schedule of classes? All other San Jose Colleges have their schedules out.
