We are incredibly proud to share that Kids 'R' Kids of Southshore has achieved an EXCELLENT VPK rating—the highest distinction awarded by the Florida Department of Education! 🎓✨

This achievement is a true reflection of the dedication, passion, and heart our VPK teachers bring to their classrooms every single day. Our teachers don’t simply prepare children for kindergarten—they create meaningful learning experiences, nurture confidence, encourage curiosity, and help each child discover their potential. ❤️

Today, we’re celebrating something truly special — 19 incredible years of Kids ‘R’ Kids Southshore! 💙💛

For nearly two decades, this campus has been more than a school. It has been a place where children have grown, friendships have been formed, families have become part of our community, and countless memories have been made. 🥹✨

Behind every classroom, every lesson, every hug, and every smiling face is a team of educators who have chosen to pour their hearts into the children and families they serve. We are so proud of the people who have helped make Southshore what it is today — and incredibly grateful for the families who have trusted us with what matters most. ❤️

🤗 HUG FIRST, THEN TEACH. 💙💛

At Kids ‘R’ Kids, we believe connection comes before correction. Sometimes, “hug first” doesn’t literally mean a hug—it means meeting a child where they are and letting them know, “I see you. I’m here for you.”

That might look like:
🙌 A high-five after a tough moment
👊 A fist bump for encouragement
💪 A gentle fist-to-fist “you’ve got this!”
😊 Getting down on their level and making eye contact
🫶 A hand to hold
👏 Celebrating their effort with a big round of applause
❤️ A warm smile and a reassuring voice
👋 A simple “I’m glad you’re here.”

Connection creates the foundation for learning. When children feel safe, seen, valued, and supported, they’re more ready to listen, learn, problem-solve, and try again.

It is with both grateful hearts and bittersweet feelings that we share the news that Mrs. Maria in Suite 250 will be retiring from Kids 'R' Kids after an incredible 19 years of service.

Mrs. Maria began her journey with Kids 'R' Kids in 2007 as one of the very first staff members hired. For nearly two decades, she has been a steadfast part of our school family and has supported our mission from the very beginning.

Throughout her 19 years, Mrs. Maria has made a lasting impact on hundreds of children and their families. She has helped children learn, grow, laugh, feel loved, and build memories that they will carry with them long after leaving her classroom. Her dedication, compassion, patience, and genuine love for children have made her an incredibly special part of our Kids 'R' Kids family.

While we will certainly miss seeing Mrs. Maria each day, we are so incredibly grateful for the years she has given to our school, our families, and most importantly, our children. Her legacy can be seen in the countless lives she has touched and the many students who have grown because of her care and guidance.

Mrs. Maria, thank you for 19 beautiful years of dedication, love, and service. Thank you for believing in our mission, growing alongside our school, and giving so much of yourself to generations of children. We wish you a retirement filled with happiness, rest, new adventures, and all the wonderful things you deserve!

Today's outdoor exploration was truly special when a Part Time VPK student discovered caterpillars munching on a milkweed plant!

This observation sparked a conversation, allowing the teacher to explain the life cycle of butterflies and introduce the children to the various butterfly species we can find in our garden. 🌱💙

Our VPK friends are already hard at work building those important fine motor skills! From practicing cutting along lines to strengthening hand-eye coordination, every little snip is a BIG step toward growing confidence and independence. ✂️🧠✨

We love watching our little learners learn by doing, try new things, and celebrate their accomplishments—especially during those very first weeks of VPK! 📚🌟
