Before you can instruct a boy/girl, you must first have their attention. Without attention, there can be no instruction. And if you don't have the attention of your children, someone or something else has their attention.
Here's a simple yet effective hack to secure the attention of your children. Talk to them. Talk to them about your life and past (good and bad) in an age-appropriate manner.

It is not enough to say that you don't want your children to suffer the things/lack you suffered. You must have a vision to equip them so that they can sustain and grow the family money and wealth.
You must first demonstrate responsible financial behavior in your own life. Children learn a lot by observing what you're modeling.
Then you teach them that wealth is not just about spending but it's about stewarding responsibly.

Initiating fatherhood (i.e reproduction) is innate but becoming a father is not innate. You have to learn it. Many of the things that we must do to ensure the long-term success of our children and create a lasting legacy do not come naturally to us. We have to put ourselves in a community where we can learn and be challenged to become more!

Many people simply happen on being a father. But to become a father, you must first become a man.
The woman at the well (John 4) said, come see a Man...she had met men who had taken advantage of her. That day at the well she met a Man. JESUS is our pattern man!
A man takes responsibility for others. A man ought to have vision for himself, his children and family. A vision of a better and preferred future. And he must drive toward the accomplishment of his vision. Visions are meant to be realized. If not, why set one at all?
