🎉 Help Us Welcome Mrs. Clarissa Russell to the OCS Family! 🎉

We're excited to welcome Mrs. Clarissa Russell to Otsego Christian School, where she'll be teaching Middle School Math and Science this school year!
Mrs. Russell is joining us from Rhode Island and is looking forward to being closer to family and friends here in Ga***rd. After spending her career in public education, she felt God leading her to a school where students can grow not only academically, but spiritually as well. She was drawn to OCS because of our Christ-centered mission, close-knit community, and the opportunity to truly know and invest in students and their families.

A few fun facts about Mrs. Russell:
🌿 She loves gardening and was sad to leave her plants behind during the move.
🪟 She creates beautiful stained-glass artwork and hopes to make a stained-glass lamp someday.
🍩 Her favorite treats are doughnuts (with nachos as a close second!).
☕ Her go-to drink is an iced coffee with cream and maple syrup.
❄️ She'd choose snowshoes over skis any day!

Mrs. Russell has a passion for helping students grow in confidence and discover that math can actually be enjoyable! She's excited to teach middle school, build meaningful relationships with students, and become part of the OCS family and the Ga***rd community.

🎉 A New Chapter Begins at OCS! 🎉

As Otsego Christian School continues to grow, we're excited to introduce Mrs. Heidi Savage, who will be joining our team as the High School coordinator as we launch our newly expanded OCS High School Program (Grades 9-12)!

Mrs. Savage will help lead students through our Christ-centered hybrid learning model, where Abeka's Virtual Mastery-Based Learning Program is paired with daily academic support, discipleship, leadership development, and meaningful real-world learning experiences, all within a guided and encouraging classroom environment.

She was drawn to OCS because of our Christ-centered mission, high academic standards, and close-knit school community. She's especially excited to teach American History and Bible while investing in students both academically and spiritually.

A few fun facts about Mrs. Savage:
👨‍👩‍👦 She and her husband have one adult son who recently got engaged this summer, and they love spending time together as a family.
🐶 They also have two dogs and enjoy spending as much time outdoors as they can.
🎿 She met her husband while skiing, and they were even married on a ski mountain in Colorado!
🎶 She enjoys collecting vinyl records, especially jazz and classic rock.
🌲 Every Christmas season, she loves creating fresh, handmade wreaths.
☕ Her favorite coffee order is a simple hot whole milk latte.

Mrs. Savage is especially looking forward to helping students grow through enrichment opportunities, community service, job-shadowing experiences, and hands-on learning that prepares them not only for college and careers, but for a life of faith, leadership, and service.

As OCS continues expanding, we're thankful for educators like Mrs. Savage who share our vision of preparing students for life and eternity. We believe every student has been created with purpose, and we're excited to see how God will use this next chapter to equip young people to impact the world for Christ.

🎉 Help Us Welcome Mr. McCarville to the OCS Family! 🎉

We are excited to introduce Mr. McCarville, who will be joining Otsego Christian School this fall as our 5th Grade Teacher!

Mr. McCarville and his family have made the move from the Chicagoland area after feeling led to find a school where Christ is at the center of everything we do. We're thankful God brought our paths together and can't wait for him to begin investing in our students this year.

A few fun facts about Mr. McCarville:
🌱 He enjoys gardening and playing disc golf.
☕ His favorite coffee order is a White Avalanche from Biggby.
🧀 He's a fan of Jalapeño Crunchy Cheetos.
👨‍👩‍👦‍👦 He and his wife have two energetic little boys, and his wife is a talented piano teacher.
😲 And here's a fun one... he has 10 siblings and 30 nieces and nephews!

Mr. McCarville is especially excited to teach 5th grade and is looking forward to building relationships with students and families while helping them grow academically and, most importantly, in their walk with Christ.

🇺🇸 As we celebrate America's 250th birthday, we're thankful for the many blessings of living in this great nation and for the freedoms we enjoy. We pray you have a safe, joyful holiday filled with family, friends, and lasting memories!

After an awesome Field Day, the Anywhere Ice Cream Truck was the perfect way to celebrate. We appreciate all the ways our PTF supports OCS throughout the year. Thank you for blessing our students and school community!
