It was an absolutely beautiful day to be in nature! The Bear River was gorgeous with all the colors of the rainbow. Tomorrow is expected to be even nicer, so everyone go get outside! Enjoy the beautiful autumn with these amazing trees. Hoowwwllll!

We had a fun first week with our homeschool programs exploring new areas along the Bear River, returning to old grounds at GT Commons, and seeing the effects of the ice storm on the forest at the Ga***rd Community Garden. We still have space in our packs, so if your child enjoys exploring and playing in nature, give us a hoooowwwllll!

We were circled up, then heard the clack clack of antlers after a bugle… then they went for it. The rut season is here. The elk did not disappoint today! Thank you nature for impressing these kids so much! They had a great field trip.

HOWL is still looking for a nature loving motivated individual that has some free time in their week to come play(work) in nature. We are needing someone for our Petoskey programming on Fridays. We could also use back up instructors in Ga***rd (W/TH) and Traverse City (M) in case instructors get sick.

Does anyone have any old binoculars they are no longer using? We are having field trips to Elk View Park and would love about 10 more sets. Is anyone able to donate a set?

Hmmm…How fast was that deer moving? This week we start off HOWL in Traverse City and Ga***rd with tracking activities plus a tree search on our hike to find different trees and record with rubbings.
