🖤💛 The countdown to an exciting new school year is on, and we can't wait to welcome our students back to Gatesville Intermediate School!

We can't wait to see our hallways filled with smiling faces, reconnect with familiar friends, and welcome our new students and incoming 4th graders onto campus. Here's to another year of learning, growing, and making memories together!

Check this out! School hours are changing for next year. Intermediate kiddos will start their school day at 8:10 and the release bell will ring at 3:55!!

Campus Daily Start and End Times

GISD will have slightly later campus start and end times for the coming school year. Two reasons prompted the later start and end times. First, we needed to lengthen the amount of daily minutes at the primary and elementary to match the three upper campuses. These additional daily instructional minutes allowed more periodic holidays such as the fall break.

Second, the later start times will facilitate our extra-curricular activities completing more of their practice time before school. The cooler temperatures in the morning are safer to practice in compared to the hot temperatures in the afternoon. The campus start and times are as follows:

Primary: Pre-K 7:45--3:30 /
Kindergarten 8:00--3:45

Elementary: 8:00--3:45

Intermediate: 8:10--3:55

Junior High: 8:10--3:55

High School: 8:10--3:55

☀️🍉🚲🕶️ Summer Meals Are Here! 🕶️🚲🍉☀️

School may be out, but healthy meals are still on the menu! Gatesville families — free summer meals are available for children all summer long at designated locations throughout our community.

🍽️ No cost for kids 18 and younger
💛Enrolled students with disabilities up to age 21 also qualify

📅 June 1 – July 30

Check out the flyer for meal locations, dates, and serving times. Whether you stop by for breakfast, lunch, or both — we’d love to help keep our kids fueled for a fun and active summer!

Since the district page already shared the news, we wanted to do our own little appreciation post… 🖤💛

Congratulations to Tyler Hanson on receiving the Vivian and Allen Bennett Excellence in Teaching Award! This recognition is so well deserved.
Tyler has been an incredible asset to our campus and to our SPED department. Whenever there’s a need, he steps up without hesitation and always gives his all. What makes him even more deserving is that he’s the first to give credit to those around him and acknowledge the amazing team that supports him.

We are proud to celebrate this accomplishment and grateful for the impact he makes every day. Congratulations, Tyler! 🎉👏🐝
