PSAT Test
We will be giving the PSAT/NMSQT test (the practice SAT test) on Tuesday Oct 29 here at school during the day. The cost of the test is $18. You must pay when you sign up for the test. Please come to the Guidance office to sign up. The last day to sign up will be Sept. 18.

UVA Wise announced this week that it will now serve families who earn $80,000 or less through the Within Reach program, which provides tuition and fees for Virginia students.

The College has been helping students whose families earn $40,000 or less since 2019, when the Within Reach program debuted. This fall, leaders at UVA Wise decided to double the income threshold covered by the initiative—which not only covered tuition but also fees.

This is a chance for students to learn more about the institution, ask questions, and establish a connection with the admissions team.

This is my second year as Gate City's College Advisor and have decided to expand my community and family engagement by creating a page to post the same important information & updates that I share on my college advising Instagram page .

This page will serve as a resource for students and their families in regards to college application deadlines, scholarships, and events and workshops that I will plan throughout the year. I often share other information regarding academic camps/programs, workforce development, testing opportunities, different types of programs offered at various institutions, and additional information that high school students and their families might need.
