What happens when kindergarten imagination meets 4th-grade creativity? Monsters come to life.
As part of a special mentorship tradition at Gaston Day School, our kindergarten and 4th-grade buddies spent the year building connections through games, crafts, and collaborative activities. This year’s art partnership may have been the most magical yet.
Kindergarten students designed and colored their very own original “monster” creations, and then their 4th-grade buddies stepped into the role of artists and makers, carefully transforming the 2D drawings into hand-sculpted 3D clay creatures.
The best part? The surprise reveal. Watching our kindergarteners see their monsters “come to life”!
At GDS, learning is about more than academics, it’s about creativity, collaboration, mentorship, and community.

Music filled the PKW lobby at Gaston Day as our Fifth and Sixth Grade Choir presented A Springtime Serenade.
Featuring nearly 25 student singers, the concert was a beautiful reminder that the arts are an essential part of how students learn, grow, and connect.
From learning harmonies and rhythms to performing together as one ensemble, our young Spartans demonstrated the power of the arts in action.
We are proud of these students for sharing their talents! Bravo on a wonderful evening of music!
