Good evening Sherwood Elementary School Families!

This is Mr. Beam calling with exciting news for Thursday, September 3rd, 2026.

Wow, what an incredible year for our Sherwood Rams as we have earned a C distinction on our North Carolina School Report Card. Sherwood has not earned a C distinction since 2017.

This year, Sherwood’s performance grade has increased from a 39 to a 59, with 94.4% of all Sherwood students exceeding academic growth.

To quote the Gaston County Schools news release, “Sherwood leads the elementary schools with the most significant increase in student proficiency” by gaining 19.1 proficiency points. Also, Sherwood Elementary exceeded growth in both reading and math, with all subgroups meeting and exceeding growth.

Our rams continue to stand proud and charge forward towards academic and personal success. To celebrate this great accomplishment we want all students and staff to wear blue tomorrow to show your Sherwood pride for our academic success.

Sherwood Elementary EXCEEDED growth on our End-of-Grade (EOG) tests this year! 🎉

Because of the hard work and dedication of our students, staff, and families, we saw amazing progress and growth across our school. This is what RAM PRIDE looks like!
