After taking a little break from recording to reset my creative brain, I started working on a new song.

I wanted to clear my head of outside influences and start from scratch. I've had this tune in my head since I first heard Take Five by Dave Brubeck.

Now I can get the tune out of my head and arrange it into my first Jazzy tune.

Funny thing is...I forgot I have to learn to comp the progression on keys as well as create a whole solo from scratch on keys. And create a Bass Solo 😁✌️

I've made it out of the gravitational pull of earth and heading towards my slingshot date with Jupiter. For some reason my drum machine isn't working...or at least I think it's trying to say something to me. The words 'Ray' and 'Burn' keep flashing on the screen when I try to start it up. With all the gum and aluminum foil I used to piece this hunk of junk back together, it's not the only thing malfunctioning. It had to be the turbulence from launch that damaged some components, because my other instruments are being weird as well...Maybe they'll gain sentience..."Ray, Burn"....."Em"..."Jace"...what does it all mean?

I'll continue to record my space session with or with out a drum machine! I feel pretty good about this!

Check out our first single! It's the start of a journey that been put off for a while now. We wanted to start things off with a bang and do something out of our usual realm of musical experimentation.

Monk's Flight takes place in the year 3045 and represents Aurelius Monk's frustration with the world and it's inhabitants thus making a decision to rebuild a dilapidated Space Shuttle with any parts he could find and finally launching into space to find his style of music in the silence of space. Following the path that Voyager 1 took to leave the solar system, Aurelius Monk will find out if leaving Earth was a good or bad thing. Will he find the sound he's looking for? Will he return to Earth? Does he leave the Solar System? What will he find? What finds him?
