That’s a wrap on summer programs! ☀️

What a fun summer it’s been at Garrison Art Center! From painting and pottery to printmaking, drawing, and everything in between, we loved seeing our studios filled with creativity, curiosity, and lots of happy, messy hands.

A huge thank you to all of our students, families, teaching artists, teaching assistants, and staff who made this summer so special.

Thank you to .fyf for sponsoring our summer programs.

Photos are from our Art a la Carte Summer Program, our last program of the summer!

Featured throughout the exhibition are works created using a range of traditional and contemporary printmaking techniques. A reductive woodcut, as seen in the print 'The Angel Oak' by Gary Blake, is a multi-color printmaking technique where an artist uses a single wood block to print every color layer. Between each color run, the artist carves more wood away from the block. Because the block is progressively "reduced", you cannot reprint previous layers.
