Happy Summer, Ranger Families!

We hope that you all are enjoying your summer break and these last few weeks of summer! As we look ahead to August 11th, we wanted to go ahead and send out the first edition of the 25-26 Ranger Review Parent Newsletter! In this edition, you will find more information regarding our bew admin, upcoming events, school supplies, arrival, dismissal, and other important back-to-school items. This year, we will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of Hickman's opening! So please be on the lookout for upcoming events to be included in future editions of our Ranger Review! We can not wait to kick off this year with you!

Kindergarten went on quite possibly the coolest field trip ever on Friday to Medieval Times to finish out their knowledge unit over the Renaissance Era. The kids got to check out the building and had some great seats for the show. To make yesterday even better, rumor has it that our kids were the best behaved school there! Thank you to our AMAZING kindergarten teachers for setting this up, and taking all of the time that you took to fundraise, so that our kindergartners could have this experience!

Today we got to celebrate our Paraprofessional of the Year and our Teacher of the Year. Congratulations again to Ms. Hernandez and Ms. Jesseph! Thank you both for all that you do, and for choosing to be Hickman Rangers!

Coach Z’s Kickball Field > Globe Life Field

The Texas Rangers would be jealous of the Hickman Rangers Kickball Field. Thank you for doing this, and for setting up Field Day, Coach Z! We appreciate you! Bring on Field Day!

Hickman’s Senior Walk will be at 8:30 in the morning on May 21st! We can’t wait to see our graduating Rangers walk the hallways of their elementary school one last time.

Happy Administrative Assistants day to our AMAZING office staff. Mrs. Do, Mrs, Lara, and Mrs. Perez wear so many hats here at Hickman, and they do an amazing job making our school the welcoming place that it is. Please help us thank these amazing ladies the next time that you see or talk to them. We are so lucky that they are a part of our team!

Thank you so much to every one that came up last night for Chalk the Walk. The weather held out so the kids got to walk up the work and the encouraging words that everyone drew out last night. Their reactions were priceless! We truly have some talented kids and parents at Hickman.

Friendly reminder that there is no school on Friday, April 18, 2025.

All Garland ISD campuses and offices will be closed. Classes will resume at their regular time on Monday, April 21.

Hickman was well represented today at the GISD Job Fair. Thank you to Ms. Jesseph, Ms. DeVoll, and Mrs. McBride for coming out to help us look for some future Rangers!

We have been celebrating Assistant Principal Appreciation Week here at Hickman. Therefore, this week has been dedicated to the person that makes our campus go, Mrs. Fendley. All week we have celebrated Mrs. Fendley with gifts from a basket full of treats, to a sign up front, to some fancy car decor for her in the parking lot, and more. Mrs. Fendley’s fun personality, her love of all things Hickman, and the fact that she somehow puts up with Mr. Marshall makes her the perfect Assistant Principal for us here at Hickman. Thank you for being you, Mrs. Fendley. We are all better because you are helping us lead the way for our Rangers.
