As I was sitting in the shower, I was thinking about being broken. There was a meme before about the broken parts of you is where light shines out. Which is true, when you are broken your light becomes visible to others. Other people can really start seeing the beauty that you’ve been hiding under your hard exterior. It’s like those beautiful geodes we buy our kids at the stores. Geesh those things look ugly and dirty and they are literally a rock so they are hard. As soon as you break those rocks, the inner beauty – the true value – of the rock is exposed. It’s just like us as people, we go through life and things happen to harden us; make us rock-like. Then suddenly, our world comes crashing down like a hammer. Some people see the broken pieces and flee, they can’t handle what your brokenness might mean to them – will they have to evaluate their own life and lies they tell themselves; will *gasp* they be asked to help you in your hour of need (how dare you). Others will stay and help pick up the pieces, help clean up the dust and see all the beauty that is inside – all the gems you hold inside your outer shell, the gorgeousness that is your essence. Your inner strength and beauty can’t come out until the hammer comes down on you.

When you live inside your head, you develop your own sense of reality that no one else is a part of. What may feel real to you is in fact, fantasy. You need to distinguish between fact and fiction before you start getting upset with people for not meeting your "needs" that are built up inside your mind that are unattainable in reality.

The definition of Fantasy is "the faculty or activity of imagining things, especially things that are impossible or improbable." So to expect what is happening in your mind to be played out in real life is truly a stretch of the imagination. While having an imagination is a great thing, forcing people to play out what you deem "real" is wrong on so many levels.

Stop projecting. Stop fantasizing. Stop living in your head.

There is a great big beautiful world out there, with wonderful people who have amazing things to show you, teach you. Open your eyes and be present.

Do not confuse yourself with the decisions you make. You are a wonderful, beautiful soul who sometimes makes "bad" decisions. You are NOT a bad person.

HOWEVER, if these "bad" decisions lead to learning and growth as a human, are they really that "bad"? Be kind to your growth and learning - we came here without remembering the instructions to learn lessons for the betterment of our souls.

Today, love yourself a little more; be patient with you, you are a beautiful light who is learning like the rest of us. Extend grace to yourself like you extend it to other people - you are AMAZING!!!
