I know, it makes perfect sense, buy a gun - buy a safe. But did you know, when most people purchase their first gun, they have not even considered where they are going to put it and how much that might cost?

According to the Harvard School of Public Health, the majority of people killed in firearm accidents are under age 24 and most of these people are shot by someone else, their own age. The shooter is typically a friend or family member, often an older brother. I don’t think it is a far stretch to assume they got their hands on a firearm, likely out of curiosity, and things quickly turned tragic. The worst part, it could have been avoided with proper storage. Restrict access, prevent death. It is truly that simple. Kids, teens, and young adults are curious and seldom have the forethought to consider what may happen to them if they “play” with a firearm. That’s not their fault, it’s in their nature. The person at fault is the one that didn’t lock the firearm up, period. With that in mind, here are a few options to keep your firearm, and more importantly, your family safe.

When it comes to safes, you have a lot of options. The determining factors are the amount and type of fi****ms you will be storing and your budget. If you are purchasing your first firearm, this must be part of the financial considerations. Most, if not all come with various methods of unlocking with either key, combination, key code, and biometric.
