📢 Offering one-hour, discussion-based sessions for teens & guardians that focus on communication, emotional awareness, and life skills.

The Connection Hour provides guided, educational conversations grounded in social-work principles & neuroplasticity. Sarah studies burnout from different angles, and alternates research with secular books about self and professional development. ‼️IMPOSTER?‼️

Imposter syndrome causes individuals to experience feelings of anxiousness and internal stress regarding their positions and merit in the spaces they occupy, despite performing well externally. It leads people to feel like “frauds” or “phonies” and doubt their abilities

Both men and women can equally suffer from imposter syndrome, which can stem from a sense of inadequacy in the environment despite objectively being competent. It can also stem from anxiety, depression, or other mental illness.

Imposter syndrome can be found as a feature of inefficacy, which is a dimension of burnout.

You don't believe the praise you are given; you feel that your work is ineffective...

When you are experiencing feelings of imposter syndrome, remind yourself that you can overcome, because there are practical skills to battle burnout!

One practical skill:

Keep an accomplishments file in Google Drive.

Scan in compliments that you have received in the form of cards or anything that is on paper.

Take a picture of your degree, copy it, and place it in the Drive.

Copy and paste reviews from management; emails of people stating how effective you are ("Great job with..." I appreciate that you... we closed the deal...")

What do you think? How do you battle imposter syndrome?
