🇺🇸 NITRO, HISTORY, AND PATRIOTIC PRIDE HEAD TO EPPING! 🇺🇸

The NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series returns to New England Dragway this weekend for the 2026 NHRA New England Nationals, and the iconic Jim Dunn Racing team is rolling into New Hampshire with a special red, white, and blue mission.

Veteran Funny Car driver Jeff Arend will pilot the KGC Construction Funny Car featuring a patriotic livery created in celebration of America's 250th Anniversary. The striking design is the first of two special anniversary-themed schemes the team plans to unveil during the month of June.

This weekend also carries historic significance for both the NHRA and Jim Dunn Racing. While the NHRA celebrates its 75th season of competition, Jim Dunn Racing is marking an incredible 76 years in drag racing. At 92 years old, Jim Dunn remains one of the sport's true pioneers and continues to lead one of the longest-running teams in motorsports history.

For Arend, Epping will mark his 256th career Funny Car start and his first New England Nationals appearance with Jim Dunn Racing since 2014. The Canadian-born veteran has positive memories at New England Dragway, including a first-round victory over Cruz Pedregon during the team's inaugural appearance at the event in 2013.

After sitting out last weekend's Potomac Nationals, the team returns rested and ready to battle the ultra-competitive Funny Car field. They'll also look to build on last season's success at Epping, where Jim Dunn Racing advanced to the quarterfinals and scored one of the biggest upsets of the event by defeating eventual Funny Car champion Austin Prock.

With four qualifying sessions, the Mission Challenge, and eliminations on Sunday, fans will have plenty of opportunities to watch the KGC Construction Funny Car chase round wins while carrying a patriotic message across New England.
