Sober Mom & Recovery Coach: Be Love, Spiritual, Inspire, Encourage, Motivate & Support others to overcome & evolve. Dan, On March 25, 2008, I was blessed with the gift of desperation. I made the decision to get and stay clean & sober! By the Grace of God, I gained an awareness that I was at my bottom: broken, lost and empty. I became aware of my hopelessness and accepted that I needed help. I had

to become honest and open-minded with myself and others and willing to do what it takes to become the person I was meant to be. As I reflect on my life experiences, I am reminded of hardships and losses I have had to overcome. And then I shift in my thinking, using the skills I have learned from others and with that awareness I am able to change my perception. I focus on the moment, right now; it is all I truly know for sure. I think about the good rather focusing on the bad. I am filled with gratitude for all the lessons I have learned that have made me a stronger and better person today. I believe everything happens for a reason and it is important to seek the lesson so we can accept what is, change what we can and move forward in our lives. The lesson is most often a “Blessing In Disguise.”

I have l had to accept from a very early age that bad things do happen to good people. At the age of 13, I chose to never be silent again after realizing in sharing my own story it allowed others to open up and share their stories too. I hope my voice can make a difference and let others know that they are not alone and that they too can stand up and fight for their rights. Today, I choose to no longer be a victim of the unfortunate events that have happened in my life. I am accountable and responsible for the choices I have made. Today I can stand up for myself and regardless of what adversity I may have in front of me know that no matter what I don’t have to use or drink because of it. I believe most all of us go through some difficult adversities in life and I am so grateful to the people that have shared their experience, strength and hope to inspire, motivate, and encourage me to never give up. I am dedicated to sharing what has helped, inspired and encouraged me on my own recovery journey and I share daily with others what motivates me based on my own adversities and trials that I have had to overcome. In sharing, it lets others know that they are not alone. I am awake and choose and intend to never go back to sleep. I am doing my best to be a good human and I am constantly evolving to be a better one. I want to be a good example for my children and others. I believe whole-heartedly “We” can do this together one day at a time! My mantra: “Choose well to live well”

Peace, Love and Blessings to you all and I thank you for walking with me on my journey in life!

“Out of suffering have emerged the strongest souls; the most massive characters are seared with scars.”

Many who grow up in homes with parental substance use learn the unspoken rule: Don't Feel. True healing breaks this rule and allows you to feel, to better understand yourself, and find comfort with who you really are.

So much healing happens in the quiet moments - sitting, walking, laughing, doing nothing special with someone who lets you be exactly as you are. No fixing. No impressing. No armor required. Safety like that isn’t dramatic, but it’s deeply regulating - and it changes us over time.

Drop a 💞 if you’re grateful for even one person who feels like this to you.

⭐ Drop this to someone who makes life feel easier just by being there.

As winter approaches, shorter days spark a cascade of changes within the brains of animals. As a result, groundhogs retreat to their burrows for hibernation, weasels’ coats turn from brown to white, and birds cease their singing. And scientists are finding that seasonal behavioral changes similarl...

“I believe that education, and only education is the key which can open the dungeon of ignorance and allow our youth to share in the glory of a life lived joyously.” - MayaAngelou

Today, on International Day of Education, we celebrate education as a fundamental human right and a powerful pathway to peace, dignity, and possibility for every child and every community. With millions of young people still out of school worldwide, this day serves as both a reminder and a call to action: education must be inclusive, equitable, and accessible for all.

Dr. Maya Angelou understood this deeply. Her work reminds us that education is not just about information; it is about liberation, empathy, and the courage to rise.

In her iconic poem "Still I Rise," Dr. Angelou demonstrates how knowledge and self-understanding empower us to transcend adversity. And through her timeless guidance, “When you learn, teach. When you get, give,” she offers a blueprint for how education becomes a collective act of uplift and responsibility.

As we honor this global day, may we recommit to ensuring that every learner, regardless of background, geography, or circumstance, has the opportunity to rise, to imagine, and to shape a future worthy of their brilliance.

Many kids across the US are excited about the upcoming storm. But others really struggle when inclement weather keeps them homebound when parents are struggling with the disease of addiction. These children - known as COAs - may feel frightened and alone; assuming that the turmoil in their home is all their fault. Remember a text or a call can make all the difference in the world. Or inviting them to enjoy the storm with you.
