The FOSSIL Project The FOSSIL Project is building a networked community in which fossil clubs and professional paleontologists collaborate in learning, science, and outreach.

Based at the Florida Museum of Natural History, on the University of Florida campus, the FOSSIL project is cultivating a networked community of practice in which fossil club members and professional paleontologists collaborate in learning, the practice of science, and outreach. Mediated through online resources and annual meetings, FOSSIL aims to enhance communication between fossil club members a

nd professional paleontologists, engage club members in training and development, allow club members to attend meetings and workshops, and conduct K-12 outreach to underserved audiences. We also will facilitate club members' contribution and access to the growing digitized collections in U.S. natural history museums, and help them create and share personal digitized fossil collections.
