Our wonderful faculty Dr. Ana Porras Anaerobias at UF BME, was hosted by UnidosNow in Sarasota-Manatee for four days of hands-on & problem-solving-focused workshops during Spring Break last week.
Here is what the coordinator at the UnidosNow had to say about the workshop:
"The students enjoyed the hands-on activities. Even though some of them felt very challenged during some of the problem-solving portions, these are the moments students grow and maybe try something new for the first time.""

Artificial Intelligence is transforming nearly every sector of the economy. Register for the Fundamentals of AI for STEM Learners short course.
It focuses on AI and its importance in engineering. This course is designed for learners who have a strong computer science background to provide an in-depth dive into AI.
The course starts on June 6. Space is limited.

Last week we had a great time hosting Branford high school students here at the UF Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering!
Students took part in lab tours and competed in a biomaterials design challenge. They had to create a cast out of available materials within the challenge.

Another great virtual K-12 event is in the books!
Last week, two UF engineering students met with youngsters from UnidosNow to lead a hands-on engineering activity titled Harness the Energy of Wind.
UnidosNow members used easy-to-find materials from home to construct a wind-powered mill that can lift a small weight.
