This week, we shine a golden spotlight on the groundbreaking writings of Gloria Anzaldúa, a visionary Chicana feminist scholar, writer, and poet.

Borderlands/La Frontera: The New Mestiza
In this revolutionary text, Anzaldúa explores life at the intersection between cultures, languages, genders, and borders. She redefines what it means to live in the “in-between,” transforming pain into power and division into dialogue.

Light in the Dark / Luz en lo Oscuro: Rewriting Identity, Spirituality, Reality
Completed posthumously and edited by Analouise Keating, this work deepens Anzaldúa’s exploration of “spiritual activism.” She invites us to seek transformation through the creative power of the imagination to rewrite our realities and envision liberation even in the darkest times.
