This weekend, instead of attending winter formal, the Columbus Academy Avalanche Robotics Team competed in a qualifying tournament in Van Wert, Ohio. We were in the Finalist Alliance, won 1st place Promote Award, 2nd place Motivate Award, and 1st place Inspire Award (which qualified us for the Ohio FTC State Tournament). We would like to thank Team 5501 USS Enterprise for hosting an amazing competition!

Avalanche Robotics just competed in our first qualifying tournament of the season. We had a great time in Indiana, and we were the second pick of the winning alliance as well as the Inspire Award winners! Thank you to both the hosting team and the tournament organizers for a great experience.

FTC Friends, Team Avalanche has our first competition coming up very soon, and we would love to conduct outreach with other FTC teams and share strategies and talk about the season! We had so much fun hosting a booth at the Ohio State Fair! Several hundred fair attendees stopped by our booth to learn more about FIRST robotics, drive a ranger robot, and even participate in SumoBots! We had FIRST and team fliers to provide those with interest with more information, and we had a surprise visit from past team members. A huge thanks to Team HatTrix for letting us exhibit!!

We had an amazing meeting today!!! We are so excited for the Ohio State Fair next Sunday, and in preparation, we printed FIRST Fliers, team information sheets, business cards, sponsorship letters, and organized what we are going to bring. Be sure to check us out next Sunday!
