31 Years of Marriage. 31 Years of Evolving.💍

On July 2nd 1994, my husband and I joined in life partnership and today we celebrate 31 years of marriage.

As I look back, I am so grateful for the love and sacrifices we have made to understand each other, to grow, to allow each other to breathe, to shine, to live, and to heal.

Life has so many twists and turns; ups and downs and over 31 years, we are not the same two people we were when we started. And I am grateful for our growth.

Marriage requires constant evolving and fine tuning.
So does your career, your life, your goals, your dreams. Consistent improvements to becoming all that you were meant to be.

If you’re still functioning with the same mindset, habits, or expectations you had when you started—it may be time to re-evaluate and reset.
Growth is a good thing.
Growth is not just for you, it’s for the people in your life to experience the best version of you.

As I reflect today, I’m not just celebrating our marriage, I’m celebrating the new me he gets to know, love, and grow alongside. 🙏🏽

Let’s be honest - - -

There’s nothing quite like doing everything “right” and still being overlooked.
Working late. Saying yes. Being dependable.
Only to watch someone else get promoted while you’re barely holding it together.

I’ve been there.
Overlooked and overwhelmed.
It wasn’t until I slowed down to examine my decision-making that I saw the truth:

👉 I wasn’t in alignment.
👉 I wasn’t advocating for myself.
👉 I wasn’t positioning—I was performing.

The turning point came when I realized I could no longer wait for someone to recognize me.
I had to start recognizing myself.
That meant facing hard truths, confronting limiting beliefs, and changing how I showed up.

And now? I teach other women to do the same.

It’s okay to turn back.

The world glorifies pushing through at all costs.

But wisdom teaches us that not every path is meant to be finished.

Turning back isn’t failure. It’s redirection. It’s choosing alignment over exhaustion. It’s courage, not quitting.

Trust that what’s ahead is greater than what’s behind.

Leadership is often equated with decision-making, managing teams, and hitting targets, but at its core, true leadership begins with purpose. When your leadership is anchored in purpose, it transforms not just your actions but also the impact you have on those around you. Purposeful leadership inspires, creates a shared vision, and leads to deeper connections and more sustainable results.

Purpose-driven leaders don’t just focus on immediate outcomes; they cultivate a long-term vision that empowers their team to thrive.

They ask themselves regularly, “What is my ‘why’? How am I bringing meaning to my leadership?” This level of introspection fuels authentic leadership.

If you’re leading, make sure it’s with intention and not just by following routines or responding to demands. When your leadership is purpose-driven, you inspire everyone around you to find and follow their own purpose too.
