Whitney Skirvin Music is a voice lesson studio, as well as a wedding & event company. Music is a beautiful, creative expression of yourself. The voice is an instrument that allows us to make that beautiful music all on our own. My objective is to help each student nurture their voice, and help them learn how to use it eff ectively and safely. I aim to help them grow in technique, build their reper

toire, and learn how to really connect to the music they are performing. The ultimate goal is to help each student fi nd their own unique voice. My approach focuses on technique fi rst, such as learning breath support, placement, and vocal safety. From there, I focus on connection with the music they are working on. Once a student has mastered these concepts, they will be able to perform any style of music with ease. Whitney Skirvin Music is based out of Fort Worth, TX. You don’t have to be pursuing a career in music, or aspiring to go to school for music. You can just love to sing, and aspire to work on your craft for the joy of it.

Black people don’t hang themselves from trees.

Strange Fruit comes from a 1937 poem by Abel Meeropol after he saw a chilling photograph of a 1930 double lynching in Indiana.
It was then made famous in a 1939 protest song recorded by Billie Holiday.

The fact that this is still happening today is both sickening and heartbreaking. It feels like the time to bring this song back to the forefront.
