Parenting a teen with ADHD can leave you wondering when to step in, when to step back, and how to help without damaging the relationship.

In this episode, Dr. Tamara Rosier Dr. Tamara Rosier shares how parents can move from rescuing to coaching, allow teens to build real-life skills, and remain a calm, supportive presence through mistakes, friendships, identity struggles, and growing independence.

Your teen needs to hear: You can do hard things. You’re going to be okay. And our relationship is not going anywhere.

As the mom of an ADHDer and a child with dyslexia, this conversation with audiologist of 30 years, Dr. Jody, were so encouraging to me.

I definitely feel like a broken record most days, but understanding that just because my kids heard me doesn’t mean their brains fully processed what I said changes the way I show up for them— with more patience and grace, and checking to make sure they understood what I said.

These 5 habits will help him develop solid personal systems as he navigates the testosterone-packed years:

1. Make it easy to remember.
External reminders help take the load off of your brain, so you don’t have to rely on yourself to remember… because you won’t.

2. Exercise is your best medicine.
Moving your body is actually supporting your attention and mental performance.

3. Leave WAY earlier than you think you need to.
Time blindness can easily make you late. Train yourself to allow for a 15-min open time block.

4. Be curious about what motivates you.
Much of an ADHDer’s performance can deeply vary based on task demands. If you’re at a fun task, you’ll quickly jump on it. If it’s something you don’t enjoy… you’ll have to dig deep for motivation. What’s that “thing”?

5. Stop before you’re overwhelmed.
Learn to recognize when your stress is rising and what you need to do to regulate it. Avoid overdoing it because it’ll be harder to manage it afterwards.

A bonus one: don’t spend your whole life trying to make your brain work like everyone else’s. Just learn yours!

Follow for more science-backed habits to help your ADHDer achieve their dreams 🤍🧠

Do you ever feel like you’re saying the same thing over and over… and your child still isn’t following through?
It may not be defiance 🤯 It may not even be that they aren’t listening.

In this episode, I sit down with Dr. Jody Jedlicka Jody Jedlicka from LearningRx to talk about what may actually be happening when kids struggle to process, remember, and act on what they hear—and how understanding the “why” can change the way we respond as parents.

I had the privilege of spending my weekend recharging my homeschooling mama tank with a thousand other moms who really get it.

I first learned about Wild + Free 4 years ago when I volunteered as a greeter at their conference in Franklin. This year, it was super sweet to go back as Ainsley Arment 🌿 ‘s guest.

If you’re a homeschool family, I PROMISE being in this community of wonderful moms will overflow your cup!

It was an extra special weekend because I got to see my friend Carlee neumann in action and the incredible work she’s building through MatchED | Homeschool + Microschool Learning Platform — another wonderful resource you must know about!!

Finally, that last pic… was the most beautiful thing I’ve ever experienced. To watch twins sisters sing “together” once again after mama of 5, Jessie, tragically passed away this spring… not a single dry eye in the room 🥹 you honored your sister beautifully, Jenni.

You guys, find your community. Fight for togetherness. Squeeze your babies. Bake the cookies.
It’s all fleeting, even the hard day.

Thanks for the boost of energy, courage, and confidence, Ainsley Arment 🌿 and Wild + Free mamas! 🤍

p.s. seeing mama Sally (Sally Clarkson) and connecting with other cool, cool moms like Sarah (Read-Aloud Revival), Leslie (Leslie M. Martino | Author & Homeschool Coach), and Morgan (Morgan Hightower). Just wow.
