I’m raising my kids to love everyone’s kids! They are learning to treat others with kindness and share with others that differences and similarities are ok! It’s what makes us all have value! We can learn something from everyone!

🎃Share an AAC photo challenge for October🎃

There’s so much power and connection that can be made when a person interacts with others while having their device.

Some device users do and do not like others using their personal device. Please respect their preferences and have more than one device as a model (when possible)

This photo shares the magical moment of peers interacting with another peer who has their device with them. Watching them explore together, take turns, laugh and share in one space, opens up so many language connections.

It also teaches others that we all communicate and want to be included with others.

🎃Share an AAC photo challenge for October🎃

Let’s take it back to the beginning of my book journey! I shared my book with a family I had just met.

His mom added ALL OF MY CHARACTERS to his device and created a Sy folder for the MY book! My jaw dropped seeing that he interacted with his device and my book!

A day I’ll never forget!

Sy is beyond thankful for his voice! He loves communicating with others and talking about dinosaurs.

What a fun day at the Region 4! I was so honored, blessed and thankful to be apart of this day. It was amazing and refreshing to be around so many people spreading disability representation, inclusion and accessibility for all the students that they serve!

💙🤟 Before Deaf Awareness Month comes to a close, I wanted to share something that I am SO excited about! 🤟💙

I’m thrilled to announce that Dogfish and the Gift of Inclusion and Dogfish and the Goodbye Wave have officially been added to DCMP — the Described and Captioned Media Program! 🎉📚

And that means…

❤️ ALL of my Dogfish Tales books are now available on DCMP and accessible to even more children! ❤️

With read-aloud audio, text/captions, and American Sign Language (ASL), these stories can be enjoyed by children who are deaf or hard of hearing, blind or have low vision, as well as children with diverse learning and accessibility needs. 🤟📖✨

Dogfish Tales has always been about kindness, inclusion, friendship, and celebrating what makes each of us unique. Knowing that more children can now experience these stories in a way that works for them means so much to me. ❤️
