Join Foundation Fighting Blindness for a free cooking session, Tools and Techniques to Conquer the 4 Fears of Cooking with Vision Loss, on Monday, February 9 from 4 to 5 p.m. (PT). Join us for the 3rd Annual Central California Braille Challenge!
Saturday, February 21
9:00 AM–4:30 PM
Valley Center for the Blind
3417 W. Shaw Ave, Fresno
Braille learners who are blind or have low vision in grades 1–12 are invited to showcase their skills, compete with students from across the Central Valley, and possibly qualify for Finals in Los Angeles!
Competition levels range from: Foundational to Apprentice, Freshman to Varsity, and Rookie.
Breakfast and lunch provided
Non-competing attendees are welcome to attend presentations

Matthew Paul Finnigan Memorial Scholarship Application Now Open.

The Autism Society Inland Empire, in collaboration with the Community Foundation for Monterey County and the Finnigan family, is pleased to announce that The Matthew Paul Finnigan Memorial Scholarship 2026/2027 application is now open through April 24, 2026.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE:
Students can be graduating seniors or someone who has graduated from a high school in California and has been accepted to post-secondary, undergraduate education, or vocational-technical training.

Eligible individuals must have an autism spectrum diagnosis and be full-time or part-time students pursuing a career in Psychiatry, Psychology, Statistics, Chemistry, Math, researching autism supports, or a career that will help adolescents on the Autism Spectrum.

The scholarship may be applied to tuition, room and board, books, supplies, and other necessary expenses related to attendance in post-secondary studies.

This is an opportunity to help guide CVRC’s future and ensure our Strategic Plan reflects the needs of our community.
