Fifth graders did a fantastic job creating visual aids for their skits to demonstrate how energy moves through an ecosystem! Students used their creativity and science knowledge to show how energy from the Sun moves through producers, consumers, and decomposers in the food chain.

HORNETS XC IS OFF TO A FLYING START!

Huge congrats to both our Boys and Girls XC teams for taking home 2nd Place titles at the ICS Invitational in Columbia! 🏆 🏃‍♀️

Runners came out strong to open the season on a tough course with many brought home medals and ribbons! Way to go team! 🐝

We are so excited to share that Freeburg Pre-K was one of the few Pre-K programs in Illinois selected to participate in the KIBO 15 exploration program!

So, what is KIBO 15? 🤖

KIBO 15 is an exciting hands-on robotics experience that introduces young children to STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) concepts through screen-free coding and problem-solving. Our students will use five KIBO robots to explore sequencing, programming, creativity, and critical thinking.

The children will create programs by lining up wooden coding blocks in a specific sequence. Using its built-in scanner, the KIBO robot reads the barcodes on the physical blocks. Then, with the press of a button, the robot brings their code to life. No screens, tablets, or apps required!

We are incredibly grateful to Little STEAMers Early Learning Program, Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy (IMSA), and ECPL – Early Childhood Professional Learning for providing this amazing opportunity. We can't wait to see where our young innovators take their learning! 🌟🤖
