We just had to share this article with you because this excerpt is particularly unhinged, even for the High Sheriff: While Jenkins criticized the policy changes, he saved most of his venom for Bickel, calling his perennial challenger a “treacherous prick.” Jenkins, who is 70, worked under Bickel’s command at the sheriff’s office during the 90s and considers him “devious.”

“I’m going to tell you what, man to man: I’d kick his ass, personally,” Jenkins told me. “Physically. I’d stomp his ass. Someday, he’s got an ass-kicking coming. I don’t like the son of a bitch. Personally, politically, he’s no good. He can read all the books he wants.”

Frederick County’s sheriff turned his office into a force multiplier for ICE before such collaboration became commonplace. As he again faces voters this year, the harm to immigrant communities is impossible to ignore.

We don’t want to encourage single issue voting, but recognizing that this is a real doozy we are confronted with, we wanted to pass this along since they’ve been diligent in tracking the details.

I'm trying to wrap my head around who we need to vote for in the upcoming elections, if we want to get rid of the Frederick County council members who think they work for the data center corporations. So I did some research and created this spreadsheet. It is a work in progress, and feedback and corrections are welcomed and encouraged. I plan on adding a column about campaign donations when I have time to dig into that. I used the Frederick News Post as my main source of information.
