Calling all Frederick County food system champions!

The Frederick County Food Council is building its interim leadership team and we’re looking for passionate community members to help shape the future of our local food system.

We’re accepting applications for volunteer roles on our Interim Executive Committee and Steering Committee—a great opportunity to lend your voice, experience, and ideas to this important work.

This week we had the privilege to attend a roundtable discussion with MD Senator Chris Van Hollen hosted by Emma Jagoz of Moon Valley Farm. Among several topics, we learned about the difficulties our farmers face in land and soil preservation, challenges to addressing hunger and malnutrition in the County's schools, and the potential effects of the new tariffs on local farms.

We’ve been cooking up something exciting for you… 👨‍🍳🥦

Join us for an online cooking class on March 23rd at 4PM! Chef Drew — who trained under renowned chef Bryan Voltaggio at VOLT and worked at the Michelin-starred Blue Duck Tavern in DC — will be teaching us how to make ricotta gnocchi with a mushroom cream sauce and roasted asparagus!

This class will be a laid-back experience where questions and comments are welcome. Let’s learn a simple yet delicious recipe from a pro and have some fun together in the kitchen! 🍝
