Why does our preschool have a 1.5-hour rest time? 💛
At HEI, rest is considered an important part of a child’s development. Our preschoolers have a 1.5-hour rest period each day to help support healthy growth, learning, emotional well-being, and overall development. Not every child sleeps the entire time, but all children benefit from having a chance to slow down, recharge, and reset for the rest of their day ☺️

Watching these students grow has been truly amazing. From learning their very first Spanish words to having conversations with their teachers, their progress has been remarkable. Along the way, they built friendships and created memories that will last a lifetime.
As they say goodbye to their teachers and wrap up an unforgettable year, we couldn’t be prouder of everything they have accomplished.

In English class, our 2nd graders participate in ‘Author’s Chair,’ where they get the opportunity to sit at the front of the class and share their writing with one another. ✨
This practice helps children build confidence speaking in front of others while developing responsibility, communication, and listening skills. 🤍
Their classmates also practice thinking of thoughtful preguntas and learning how to listen with kindness and respect. Pequeños moments like these help children grow into confident and curious learners. 📚🌎
