M.Ed. Summer graduate spotlight:
Kaitlyn Pickens:

I currently serve as a 4th-grade teacher at Lavonia Elementary in Franklin County. My family consists of me, my mom, dad, and twin younger sisters. I chose to continue my graduate education at Emmanuel because of the positive experience and growth I experienced from my undergraduate Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education at Emmanuel. I love how Emmanuel is a close-knit community with personable professors, and where I can continue to grow in my faith. As I continue my journey in education, my future goals are to obtain my Specialist degree with an ESOL endorsement, continue growing, and learning to apply new knowledge and skills to create a safe and positive learning environment in the classroom that meets the needs of all students. I want to have a lasting impact on my students and the field of education.

Randi Lloyd:

I currently serve as a Special Education teacher at Waresboro Elementary in Ware County. I’m married to my husband, Zeb, and we have two boys, Zander & Zayt. I chose Emmanuel because I wanted a college that is rooted in faith, community, and excellence. Emmanuel provides a nurturing environment where I can grow both professionally and personally, all while staying connected to my values. As I continue my journey in education, my goal is to keep learning, growing, and advocating for students with exceptional needs. I want to make a lasting impact in education.

M.Ed. Summer graduate spotlight:
Caroline Jernigan

I am married and have 2 sons; my oldest is 6, and my youngest is 1. I currently work as a 4th grade teacher at Jesup Elementary School. I am so glad that I was able to get my Master's Degree at Emmanuel University because I wanted a close-knit learning environment where my faith could be part of my educational journey. As I continue teaching, my goal is to keep pouring into my students—not just academically, but emotionally and spiritually too. I want to keep growing as an educator, eventually mentor new teachers, and use what I’ve learned to help create a classroom where every child feels seen, safe, and supported.
