This summer, the Findlay Fire Department, in partnership with the Ohio State Highway Patrol, had the privilege of working with an incredible group of young women from the Findlay Trojans Women's Soccer program.

Our goal was never just to make them stronger athletes. It was to help develop stronger resilient leaders.

Throughout the summer, they learned lessons in leadership, accountability, discipline, mental toughness, fitness, overcoming adversity, and what it truly means to be a great teammate.

These young women didn't just show up—they showed out.

They trained with purpose.
They embraced the goal.
They pushed through pain.
They fought through adversity.
They learned that individual commitment fuels collective success.

Every workout challenged them physically and mentally, and every challenge was met with determination, resilience, and grit.

They are ready.

Ready for the season ahead. Ready for the moments when games get hard. Ready to trust one another. Ready to compete.

We have complete confidence in this team and in what they are capable of accomplishing. They are tough. They are disciplined. They are united.

These girls are fierce.

It has been an honor for our firefighters and our partners at the Ohio State Highway Patrol to invest in these young women. Their work ethic, attitude, and commitment have made every early morning worthwhile.

New recruits are hitting the ground running with training!

Local 381 would like to thank Flag City Towing & Recovery for their generosity in allowing our firefighters to spend the day on their grounds working on stabilization, lifting, and extrications involving semis and other heavy vehicles. This type of training is extremely difficult to simulate without actual semis and we could not do this without our community partners like Flag City Towing. Thank you to all who made this possible!

On July 20th, Local 381 welcomed 4 new firefighters! Dominic Tracy, Hunter Clouse, Zachary Hamman, and Gavin Lammers were sworn in by Mayor Muryn with their families and Local 381 members in attendance.

These new members come with a wide variety of experience from construction, engineering, and even nursing! Three of these men will attend the Ohio Fire Academy beginning in August and one will begin shift work at that time due to being previously certified.

When someone in Findlay dials 911, they aren't thinking about staffing numbers or statistics—they're counting on help to arrive.
That's exactly why Findlay firefighters come to work every day. 💪
Behind every emergency is a family ❤️, a neighbor 🏡, or a friend who needs someone they can trust. Our firefighters are committed to providing that help with courage, compassion, and professionalism.
Over the last decade, emergency calls have increased by 53% 📈, yet our department has fewer firefighters than it had in 2013 and remains below nationally recognized staffing recommendations. Even so, our firefighters continue to answer the call—day and night 🌙☀️, 365 days a year.

🏡 Growing Together, Serving Together 🚒
Findlay is growing, and that's something worth celebrating. 🎉
New neighborhoods 🏘️, new businesses 🏢, and new opportunities make our city a great place to live, work, and raise a family. But growth also means more emergencies, more medical calls 🚑, more traffic accidents 🚗, and more people depending on their firefighters.
In fact, emergency calls have increased by more than 53% over the past 10 years. 📈
Despite that increase, Findlay firefighters continue to answer every call with professionalism, skill, and compassion—even while operating with fewer firefighters than national standards recommend and fewer firefighters than our department had in 2013.
💙 No matter the challenge, our mission remains the same: to be there when our neighbors need us most.
Thank you for supporting the men and women who proudly protect the Findlay community every day. We are honored to serve this incredible city.

Every day, Findlay firefighters have the privilege of serving one of the best communities in Ohio.
Whether we're responding to a medical emergency 🚑, helping a family after a fire 🔥, rescuing someone after a crash 🚗, or simply waving to kids as we drive through a neighborhood 👋, we're proud to be part of this community.
