[TODAY IS THE DAY!] Today, I commit to having every word that comes out of my mouth and every word I type from my hands be a full expression and fulfillment of my mission. While I have been doing what I can to make a difference for others for many years, I have never had the clarity I do now. I am crystal clear that my life is for one thing and one thing only...
TO CREATE A WORLD WHERE EVERYONE KNOWS THEY ARE VALUABLE AND WORTHY.
If you have noticed, we don't have this kind of world right now. We have a world where too many of us are having our dignity -- our value and worth -- violated. And, regardless of background and capabilities, we all share an innate need to be valued, acknowledged, listened to, treated fairly, and accepted for who we are.
As we confront inappropriate, abusive, and even violent behaviors on our campuses, in our companies, and in our society, there is always a violation of someone's dignity at play — someone is left feeling less valuable and less worthy as a result. Each time, their glass of dignity is a little less full — they have less life, less joy, and less confidence.
In every interaction, we have the choice to honor or violate someone’s dignity. We have the choice to lift someone up or tear someone down. We have the choice to empty or fill their glass.
It is time to educate and empower ourselves — and others — to always make the right choice and honor dignity.
I commit to doing everything -- and nothing else -- to fulfill this mission. And, I do this for you. And for those who have yet to hear of me or my mission. This is for everyone. This is for a new world where each and every one of us truly knows our value and worth -- and we experience it day by day, moment by moment -- so strongly that no one can take it from us. This is going to take some work -- from me and from you.
If you have already been inspired by my work, you have seen nothing yet! RESPONSE ABILITY and DignityU will continue to be expressions of this commitment as well as other projects and initiatives. My stomach churns as I type this -- this is that big of a deal for me and my journey of making a difference.
To really kick this thing off, I reveal my brand new website -- all created and designed from this mission. You will be seeing and hearing from me a lot more -- more than you ever have. There will be opportunities for you to participate and get involved -- and to empower others to join this mission. It will take all of us -- I cannot do this alone. It will take a whole new world.
