August RCM Exams!! 🎶 Two of my students participated in their first RCM examinations, both testing at the Preparatory A level. I’m so proud of the work they put into preparation—and it definitely paid off! Both scored amazingly on their exams, receiving First Class Honors and First Class Honors with Distinction!

It was so wonderful watching Aria and Amelia grow in their technique, musicianship skills, and dedication to music this summer. I’m excited for them as they begin to learn more exciting music this fall! 🎹

2026 Summer Showcase ☀️

I’m so proud of each of my students, all of which put in so much hard work into their music this past year! Many were able to attend this year’s Summer Showcase and performed around thirty pieces in total, sharing their music with family and friends. We also celebrated many outstanding student achievements across festivals, exams, and auditions, recognizing all students who participated in these events, even if they were not able to attend the showcase. We even did a raffle and prizes for students who went above and beyond in a summer practice challenge! 🎉

A student composition was also premiered at this event. This lovely piece by one my students was titled ‘A Dolphin Waltz.’ Her program notes are included in one of the slides. I was honored to be able to perform it in her absence.

This recital closes off another wonderful year of teaching! After a break, we’ll jump right back into new music! Looking forward to what the next year holds 🎶

Congratulations to Aalia and Asher for completing their levels of Faber Piano Adventures! 🎉 🎶

Aalia has been playing the piano for seven months and demonstrates a lovely attention to musicality and creativity in interpreting music. Aside from her lesson book pieces, she has enjoyed learning rote pieces from Piano Safari. At five years old, she plays with sensitivity, technique, and a real appreciation for beautiful music.

Asher has now completed his second level since beginning piano lessons ten months ago. He is very self-motivated and always exceeds the week’s goals by learning something new on his own or further polishing a piece. I love the enthusiasm and thoughtfulness he brings to his music!

Amazing job, Aalia and Asher! 🥳

Congratulations to Azariah and Vivian for completing their levels of Faber Piano Adventures! 🎶 🎉

Azariah has been playing the piano for seven months and is wonderful at reading his notes and rhythms, displaying a strong sense of pulse and musicality. He’s a hard worker and I’ve absolutely loved watching him grow as a young musician—he’s only five years old and already has a wonderful foundation to create music for a lifetime. He does a great job with interpreting fun character pieces!

Vivian has been taking lessons for ten months now! She started at the primer level and has now completed her third level—Level 2A. She has learned many pieces from her RCM Prep A Book and is working on a difficult sonatina, as well. Vivian is detail-oriented and quite independent when it comes to learning new repertoire, diligently practicing and always coming with a little bit of something extra for me to hear. I had the great privilege of hearing one of her own original compositions last week.

Today, some of my students shared their music with residents at an assisted living facility. The residents loved hearing these young pianists play! We even had a little encore where a few students came back up to share more of their performance/exam pieces. Music is a beautiful gift that is meant to be shared! Proud of my students for making an impact today and thankful that they and their families were able to take some time out of their weekend to share this program. Looking forward to more studio-wide outreach opportunities like these in the future!

Celebrating student milestones!

A couple of my students recently advanced to higher levels of music, and to celebrate this, they each received a book of music specially selected. For one of them, this Schumann album represents musical growth—she’ll start with the simpler pieces near the beginning of the book and over time progress to the more demanding ones at the end. There will always be a new piece to look forward to!

Another student who is advancing through intermediate into early advanced pieces received a collection of Bach Inventions, a staple for any pianist. Looking forward to working with her more on counterpoint, balance, style, and more!

I absolutely love urtext editions. My own collection holds special meaning to me and has slowly grown over the years. Excited to watch these advancing pianists dig into their first urtext editions 🤍
