Today, two students participated in a recital at the James L. West Center for Dementia Care, organized by the Fort Worth MTA. I’m glad they were able to participate and share their music with the residents!

Last poster presentation of the semester, this time with a brand new one: “Nurturing Creative Musicianship: Improvisation Resources for the Piano Studio.”
This caps off another year of pedagogical research. I don’t think I’ve mentioned this before…in September, I had the privilege of being accepted into the 2025-2026 TWU Experiential Scholars program, supporting me on this project. I’m so grateful to have had this opportunity, and thankful for members of the TWU faculty (both in the music department and Center for Student Research) who have been a huge help and support.
Looking forward to applying what I’ve learned to my own practicing and teaching, and continuing my research while pursuing a graduate degree.

Three of my students came for their weekly lesson on their birthdays in February and April! 🎂🤍
I love celebrating my students and making their birthday lessons extra special!

I spent the past day on a quick trip to Richmond, Virginia, where I had the pleasure of presenting my research poster, “Diary of a Child: A Pedagogical Exploration of Ernesto Lecuona’s Children’s Suite” at the National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR).
I am very grateful to have had another opportunity to present this pedagogical research, and am thankful to my school (Texas Woman’s University) for supporting me on this conference trip. I was able to head home early to get back to teaching my students and continue preparing for my senior recital and final projects as I near graduation!

March was simply wonderful! 🎹
🌟 Many students reached musical milestones—whether by finishing a level, memorizing a piece, learning new musical concepts, or polishing repertoire for upcoming exams and performances. I’m so proud of each and every one of my students! 🎉
🌟 I also took a trip to the MTNA National Conference in Chicago, and had the privilege of meeting other teachers, business owners, fellow college students, and professional musicians who are passionate about spreading the joy of music and fostering creativity and growth among students! I attended some wonderful sessions and learned a lot. Of course, I also spent some time exploring the city 🏙️
MTNA post coming soon 😊

Yay for Vivian!! 🎉 After five months working through Piano Adventures Level 1, she is ready for Level 2! Vivian is very determined and motivated, and always comes to her lesson with some extra music she learned on her own! 🎶
Besides her lesson pieces, she is currently polishing multiple repertoire pieces from RCM Prep A and is almost ready for Prep B. I’m so proud of her! 🎹 💕
