Today we celebrated our kindergarten students with their Kindergarten Culmination. Students sang, created self-portraits, and were gifted books and peace roses. We will miss them but are excited to see what the future holds for them!

Spotlight on: The Geometric Solids
The geometric solids engage visual and tactile senses. This work is a preparation for geometry. The solids are a dramatic exploration using the hands and eyes and a 3 Period Lesson to introduce vocabulary.

The Bunche PTA rocks! They spoiled our staff with delicious treats each day last week as well as daily raffles for fun prizes!
Our staff also rocks! Please give a round of applause to Mrs. Serrani, our Bunche Teacher of the Year! Mr. Pace gets a huge shout out for being the Bunche Employee of the Year!

Spotlight on: Color Boxes
Color boxes offer a visual sense of color. Students begin with matching three colors. As the work progresses, more colors and shades are added. The direct aim is visual discrimination of color through matching on a larger scale and the discrimination of color through gradation of shades from darkest to lightest.

It's all butterflies around Bunche! Each classroom has painted lady butterflies that they are eagerly waiting to emerge from their chrysalis.
Kindergarten students invited their special grown-ups for a Butterfly Social ice cream party and are taking a field trip to the Botanical Conservatory to explore the butterfly exhibit.

Tuesday was our annual Spring Concert and Art Show! Students are studying the continent of Asia this year, and songs and art were focused on different Asian themes.

Spotlight on: The Constructive Triangles.
The constructive triangles give the child a practical experience in plane geometry. They are called constructive boxes because the child sees the triangle as the element which forms other rectilinear figures and construction of new forms.
