Please join the Actuarial Club in Kettler 216 at noon on Monday, October 8 for the first Actuarial Club meeting of the semester.

We’ll discuss the actuarial profession and meet other students interested in actuarial careers. We’ll also discuss upcoming events, including a potential trip to Chicago to attend a Candidate Connect event that is hosted by the Society of Actuaries.

Meet the Actuarial Firms Night will be THIS THURSDAY, October 4, from 6 to 7:30 pm in Room LB 137 - near the entrance of the Helmke Library. Several local employers of actuarial and data science professionals will be on hand to describe the full‐time positions and internship opportunities available at their firms.

Brotherhood Mutual, Buck Consultants, Central Insurance, Lincoln Financial Group, Medical Protective, PHP, and Swiss Re will be attending. Most of these employers will be accepting resumes. If you are interested in obtaining a position at one of these firms, please dress professionally. The company representatives attending this event are often the hiring managers, and making a good impression at this event is very helpful in landing an internship or permanent position.

Even if you are not yet ready to apply for a position, attending this event is a good way to learn about the profession.

There will be a panel discussion from 6:00 to 6:30 pm. Afterward, each employer will be at a table, and students can approach each employer to learn more about the firm and to drop off resumes.
